Book Design, Layout Design: Tamarack Institute “10 Guide”

Overview:

Tamarack Institute is a Canadian nonprofit organization dedicated to community-building and poverty elimination. Each publication in their “10 Guide” book series provides in-depth guides for communities tackling a specific objective. The Guide shown here describes the implementation of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in local communities.

The Challenge:

Given the full text for the 52-page book, design and prepare the SDGs Guide for publication. Tasks included:

  • Cover design
  • Interior layout design (keeping consistent with previous Guides)
  • Populating the book with images (sourcing stock photos in addition to images from Tamarack members)
  • Preparing print-ready and web-ready versions of the Guide

The 10 Guides are available free of charge on Tamarack’s website. Sheena has designed four Guides to date.
